Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for carrying out assigned operational work in line with safety and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Operation of the hydrocarbon process plant and equipment from a Central Control Room via DCS and all field operations.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of equipment / plant operation.
  • Responsible for performing all tasks assigned in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the established operating procedures and written and oral instructions from the seniors.
  • Proficient skills in operating DCS and ESD systems, preferably Emerson DeltaV system.
  • Operate DCS control console to coordinate and regulate process variables and to direct flow rates of various process and utility streams according to prescribed schedules.
  • Operate ESD/F&G control console to coordinate and act on emergency scenarios like gas leak, fire etc.
  • Responsible for alarm management of DCS and ESD Systems.
  • To determine changes in equipment controls required to produce specified quantity and quality of products.
  • Set controls to adjust process variables, such as flows and pressures.
  • Responsible for recording, compiling, reporting and documenting operating data, and monitoring process indicators.
  • Coordinate the start-up, shut-down (normal & emergency) and normal operations with Operations In-charge and field staff.
  • Responsible for preparation, such as plant isolation etc., for day-to-day maintenance work.
  • Maintain safe and stable operation, keep required quality of product, Plant productivity improvement, etc.
  • Responsible for stabilizing Plant operations and controlling all process upset conditions.
  • Responsible for carrying out routine checks on equipment for abnormalities, to report defects noted in equipment and coordinate with the concerned staff.
  • Arrange and supervise the collection of samples in various streams and deliver them to Laboratory.
  • Complete the procedure for handing over plant & equipment for maintenance.
  • Receive chemicals and maintain the stock/consumption register and while following all HSE procedures and rules.
  • Follow up on open work permits.
  • Knowledge of F&G detection and fire suppression systems.
  • Carry out duties as Auxiliary Fireman or Site Safety Officer as and when required during emergencies, as per the Facility Response Plan.
  • Responsible for carrying out the equipment change over schedule.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Degree/Diploma in Chemical Engineering, bachelors degree in chemistry or equivalent.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas Plants
