Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports;
  • Set up and adjust production machineries/tools;
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces;
  • Minimum 5 years experience setting up and operating continuous 5 axis CNC Milling Centres and CNC lathe
  • Manual milling is an asset
  • CMM programming is an asset
  • Proficient with Hass (New gen controls) and Mazak is an asset
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables in metric and standard;
  • Calculating Work Offsets (all axes);
  • Indicating and Probing with Renishaw
  • Understanding program/D-Comps, part edge and center path programming;
  • Proving out new and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts and conducting first off inspections;

  • Ability to verify dimensions of machined parts using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers);
  • Edit programs to optimize and/or correct machine performance;
  • Take immediate and appropriate action whenever a deviation or non-conformance is identified;
  • Ability to read and understand CNC programs that will allow to manually modify and edit;
  • Write programs at controller to perform simple operations; able to program on Mazatrol
  • Able to optimize CNC Programs, feeds and speeds;
  • Ability to identify, select, prepare and set cutting tools;
  • Machining of higher complexity parts with a wide range of different materials;
  • Work closely with programmer to develop machining processes for new parts;
  • Knowledge of Top Solid, Solid works and/or Mastercam is an asset;
  • Train new employees to safely and efficiently operate milling machines;
  • Overlook operators and assist with any issues;
  • Follow preventive maintenance procedures;
  • Work closely with the Machining Supervisor towards continually improving the machining department
