Site Engineer




  • Will be overall in charge of P&L for the projects, function. Be a single point source for stakeholders for all activities and performance of assigned project(s).
  • Provide leadership to the projects under the EBG of Astro Holdings.
  • Using tools like MS projects and other project management concepts.
  • Must possess knowledge of Steel, Hardware etc used in construction, and HVAC areas. We look forward for candidates with a strong construction industry background banking on synergies that can be created from within the EBG.
  • Associate with all the projects right from beginning of work at project site, during execution, till completion and handing over of the project.


The incumbent candidate must be possessing expertise in conducting the following : PROJECT/SITE ENGINEERS:


• Kick-off Meeting

  • Project management plan covers entire gamut of activities for complete project life cycle including all knowledge e.g. Integration management, scope management, time management, cost management, procurement management, safety health and environment, risk management, quality management, human resource management, communication management.
  • • Prepare Project organization chart with duties and responsibilities.
  • • Prepare statutory plan and check compliance of the same.
  • • Documents and data control.
  • • Prepare term of reference
  • • Prepare and execute work schedule / time management plan.
  • • Follow-up for resolution of conflicts.
  • • Manage detailed project reports and get approval.
  • • Coordinate with QS resource.
  • • Review and recommend interim payments after preparation by the Performance Management Manager.
  • • Carry out performance analysis (actual versus budget).
  • • Manage scope of work and its variations with QS
  • • Check as-built drawings prepared by the Contractor during construction.
  • • Delivery Management-post construction
  • • Prepare inspection works schedule based on authority requirements.
  • • Prepare final inspection and test plan.
  • • Carry out inspection and testing for applying cc.
  • • Conclude hand over with client and O M team.
  • • Must be knowledgeable on Kaizen implementation.


QUANTITY SURVEYORS:

  • Assist in the preparation, reporting and presentation of feasibility estimates, cost plans, cost models, contractor procurement, tenders, value engineering, fee generation, post contract cost reporting, change control, final account etc.
  • Continuously improve on deliverables and reducing wastage
  • • Produce project performance information, comparative studies on best practices in industry on quantifying, costing and billing, analyze case studies and benchmark project profiles while holistically creating the Construction vertical to be a benchmark for others.
  • • Identify key risk parameters, threats and opportunities, raise awareness, address and resolve problems at project level.
  • • Breakdown activities, identify various parallel tasks, lead and lag indicators to ensure just in time procurement of materials thereby supporting buyer and execution teams.
  • • Support the project delivery team in the sites and maintain a schedule of potential financial implications for the various projects involving scope for risk mitigation and avail benefits from parallel activities and whitespaces ( will discuss during discussion).
  • • Actively participate and support the bidding and tender opportunities as required and contribute to the continued growth of the vertical.
  • • Proven track record of working on the delivery of high value construction projects in Africa • Trained on Revit or Cost X or similar Quantity measurement tools
  • • Comfortable interfacing with Senior Management and Stakeholders.

  • • Experience of work with Clients, QS Consultants, PMC, Contractors in Africa an added advantage

Product Specialist - Medical Equipment



Roles and Responsibilities


• Expertise in Imaging equipment ( Ultrasound, X ray, CT scan, MRI) , Ventilators, patient monitors, anesthesia equipment, oxygen concentrators and allied medical equipment

  • Knowledge on servicing smaller units like patient monitors, critical care equipment, to name a few
  • Expertise in recommending list of consumables, and accessories that can be stocked for whole sale and retail to various healthcare facilities.
  • Must be an aggressive in ensuring timely responses, troubleshooting and support the division in technical sales.
  • Specific certification in any product range will be an added advantage from Philips, Siemens, GE , Toshiba etc..
  • Install, adjust, maintain, repair, or provide technical support for biomedical equipment of wide range .
  • • Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.
  • • Train clinicians and other personnel on the proper use of equipment including applications training.
  • • Install new biomedical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance.
  • • Maintain biomedical equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; conducting tests; troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions; calling for special service; evaluating service contracts; maintaining equipment inventories.
  • • Direct biomedical equipment operation by providing equipment operation demonstrations; instructing other healthcare staff in use and care of equipment; answering questions; providing information.
