Principal responsibility
The front-end engineer is responsible for implementing the user interface for the company. You will work closely with the creative team to ensure that the design and user experience of all emails is executed beautifully. Your responsibilities will skew towards front-end programming - javascript, jquery, AJAX etc, but you will be doing HTML/CSS layout. Preferably, you are proficient in image editing tools such as Photoshop
Key responsibilities
Code (convert to HTML) all designs and enhancements using the latest standards and technologies such as HTML, HTML 5, CSS3 as well program the interactivity via Javascript.
Review designs from a technical perspective and see whether adjustments maybe required to create a better user experience
Provide recommendations on user interaction best practices by leveraging HTML 5, Javascript and CSS frameworks
Test features at the QA stage to ensure that all front-end requirements have been implemented correctly
Provide estimates for completing tasks
Requirements
HTML / HTML5 / CSS / CSS3
Javascript / Jquery. Aware of JavaScript Frameworks like Handlebars.js, Ember.js, Bootstrap.js
Basic knowledge in image editing tools such as Photoshop to slice and dice through layers (we don't expect you to be a designer)
Experience building responsive website across a variety of mobile and web form factors
Outstanding communication skills - which will be required when providing reams of feedback to design partners
A solid team player - someone who can partner with his or her colleagues
Ability to comfortably work on multiple projects and products
Preferred:
Comfortable with CMS tools such as Drupal and other engineering tools/processes such as Github, JIRA
Adept in php/MySQL programming
Knowledge of server-side Javascript like node.js
Experience with native mobile programming. Could by leveraging a framework such as Phonegap or Appcelerator.
