Transport Supervisor for Nigeria

Experience: 5 to 7 yrs.

Our Client is part of a group of companies with large business interests in East and West Africa spanning FMCG, Construction Materials, Agriculture, Oil & Gas, Transport and Shipping Sectors. The group has over 400 Indian expatriates working with various group operations.

Position Overview:

The group seeks to appoint a Transport Supervisor for ensuring maintenance and operations of a commercial fleet of more than 100 vehicles that include Mack, Volvo, MAN & Mercedes heavy duty trucks (Over 30 ton capacity).

Transport Supervisor will report toHead of Transport Operations. He should be an all-rounder, specifically with expertise in maintenance and repairs of 30 Mt haulage trucks. He should have capability to handle administrationand be a hands-on person who leads his team by personal example. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage a fleet of over 100 trucks report to Head of Transport Operations. 
Will oversee two transport technicians who work with the locals on basic repairs.
Should have expertise in maintenance and repairs of 30 MT haulage Trucks
In African conditions Transport Supervisorwould still need to have the attitude that they are willing to get their hands dirty and be able to practically do the work, not sit in an office and manage others.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Offshore Salary + Local salary + Annual Bonus Salary is not a constraint for the righ
Bachelor accommodation
Annual bonus on off-shore salary
30 days paid leave with airfare each completed year of service
Airfare and Nigeria Work Permit Costs will be borne by the company
Position will be on contract

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualification: Diploma in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 5 to 7 years work experience as Transport Supervisor or equivalent position in a large private or public sector organization, maintaining a commercial truck fleet of more than 50 vehicles.

Field of Experience: The candidate should have a proven track record in the maintenance & operation of heavy duty commercial trucks (30 ton haulage capacity). 

Preference will be given to candidates with working experience in Mack, Volvo, MAN & Mercedes trucks

KEY SKILLS

The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
Possess excellent communication skills
Should be able to lead and manage a team assistant technicians, administrative staff and repairmen
Good English speaking and writing skills
