Purchase Manager for Malaysia

Experience: 5 - 10 yrs

• Managing and controlling all the companys suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of Raw Materials for production and spare parts for machinery.
• Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production.
• Forecasting consumption for major raw materials and keeping a constant check on stock levels.
• Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company's needs and ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives, compliance with quality requirements, visit and audit supplier to validate their competency.
• Identify new potential suppliers, interview them, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates.
• Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality; negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided;
• Liaising between suppliers and relevant internal departments.
• Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities, producing reports, presentation, statistics as per management requirement about market analysis and possible business growth.
• Training and supervising the work of other members of purchasing team.
• Foster close working relationships with associated departments eg. Sales, Warehouse and Production,
• Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spend and meet saving target assign by management.
