Instrument Technician

Education : High School Diploma/Certificate

Languages : Good communication skills in English both oral and written

Informative Systems : Knowledge of MSOffice Package (Word, Excel), Windows Operating
System is preferred

Work experience : 10 years minimum

Age : 30 years on

Competence and Skills

Good knowledge in Instrument installation including cable Termination and impulse tubing.

Conduct Instrument Testing, Pressure testing of impulse & signal lines, Meggering including
Troubleshooting of instruments.

He should be able to carry out Pre-commissioning/commissioning Loop checks for instrumentation works.

Deep knowledge in Calibration of major Instrument such as Level transmitter, Pressure
Transmitter, Temperature Transmitter, Indicator, Element and Analyzers.

Considerable knowledge in the calibration of Control Valve in the field Hart type or Fieldbus
Foundation.

He must have a good knowledge of machines and tools (including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance), materials and methods involved in the construction, installation and/or repair of any Instrumentation system.

Must be able to read blueprints and follow a plan layout so he can install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on the job specifications and codes.

Role Description
Reporting to Instrument Foreman and performs all related tasks that will help complete the project. He must execute all Instrumentation works assigned to him by his immediate superiors and ensure
that all related activities are carried out considering the use of only approved materials and work quality satisfying the Project Specifications, relevant codes/standards and good engineering practice.

He make sure that everything is installed in a safe manner that will not present harm or danger to the general public or private individuals

Competence and Skills

Have expert skills in using a wide variety of hand tools including pipe benders, pipe threading machine, hammers, drills, chisels, reamers and different types of wrenches.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawing in order to understand how to perform the installation.

With the use of special machinery or hand tools, he must have the ability to cut pipes based on the specifications on a blueprint.

Deep knowledge of bending the pipes and tubings manually to fit the layout.

Ability to connects pipes, tubings and fitting so that they do not easily separate.

Deep knowledge in carrying out pressure test on the respective tubings and piping of Impulse line, Air Supply Lines and Signal Lines to make sure that tubings, piping and related fittings are secure, functional and do not leak under the most extreme pressure with reference to piping design and/or any international standards.

Role Description
