Experience: 5 to 10 yrs.

Reporting to the Director PacLII you will be responsible to the Head of the School of Law for the Continuous and consistent operation of PacLIIs technical services, including: maintenance and development of necessary systems software, maintenance and development of networking equipment and resources and maintenance and development of necessary servers and operating environment. This will include the maintenance and continued development of the web site, technical assistance to PacLII staff; assisting with the design, planning and implementation of technical upgrades and improvements as required to meet PacLIIs changing requirements; specification for update and renewal of PacLII IT assets. You will also represent the Institute in the region and internationally, laise with AustLII and other legal Information Institutes on IT development and management issues and respond to Helpdesk enquiries.

  2. a Masters degree in IT (software development and/ or network administration) OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation
  3. proficiency in LINUX systems administrator, especially in change management
  4. a minimum of 5 years experience in network administration and systems software development including the Perl and C programming languages
  5. demonstrable experience in operating and maintaining the SINO search engine
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in web interface development, web standards and their implementation and that have working knowledge of the South Pacific region. It is essential that you are self-motivated, a team player and are committed to the organization.

Remuneration:


The position is a temporary appointment which ends in June 2015.

Salary Range:

VT 3,972,317 to VT 5,226,733 per annum
(Inclusive of 15% gratuity)
