We are part of a large trading house with headquarters in India and dealing into dry bulk commodities like iron ore fines, coal and various food commodities


Executive - Chartering & Operations


Responsibilities:

  • Assist manager in making tonnage list and other coordination for fixing vessels time to time.
  • Stay updated with vital info. For ports visited such as drafts, berths, priorities, crane/grab facilities, load/discharge performances, congestions etc.
  • Communicate with ship-owners, brokers, port agents, surveyors, PNI club, shipper, receiver, broker, bunker supplier etc. for operational matters.
  • Monitor and review performance of the vessels against warranties and compare actual deviation from estimated freight to take preventive measures.
  • Update manager with vessel movements and escalate any under-performance, delay, deviation, breakdown, congestion etc.
  • Assist manager in drawing c/p terms, drafting, signing and sending as per standard procedures in timely manner.
  • Ensure smooth operations including - voyage instructions, vessel nominations, substitute, vessel updates, freight tax paperwork, daily vessel reports, berthing, loading, discharging updates, on-hire & off-hire survey, sailing, bad weather delays, breakdown, LOI, Stowage, dead freight etc. in coordination with manager.
  • Estimate bunker requirement and coordinate for bunkering in coordination with manager.
  • Preparation of running and final hire statements and settlements with owners.
  • Preparation and settlement of lay time.
  • Collect port da estimate, disbursal and checking of final DA.
  • Nominate vessels to PNI and coordinate closely with manager and PNI for dispute matters.
  • Appoint weather routing agencies, review interim & final performance reports.

Sr. Manager - Chartering & Operations


This position will be based at Singapore reporting to the executive director. This position shall be responsible in fixing suitable vessels on time / voyage charter mostly from India to China for Iron Ore Shipments and ensure smooth operations till redelivery of vessel including settlement with owners. We are looking for following main skills & experience for the position -


Responsibilities:

  • Fix cape, panamax, supramax, handy vessels as per requirement time to time in close coordination with management.
  • Stay updated with vital info. for ports visited such as drafts, berths, priorities, crane/grab facilities, load/discharge performances, congestions etc.
  • Keep good contacts with shipowners, brokers, port agents, surveyors, PNI club etc. in relevant ports.
  • Monitor and review performance of the vessels against warranties and compare actual deviation from estimated freight to take preventive measures.
  • Update management with market information regularly including competition, trends, hire and bunker market
  • Continuous review and implementation of proper charter party terms to minimize risks / liabilities.
  • Ensure smooth operations including - voyage instructions, freight tax paperwork, daily vessel reports, berthing, loading, discharging updates, on-hire & off-hire survey, sailing, bad weather delays, breakdown, LOI, Stowage, dead freight etc.
  • Estimate bunker requirement and coordinate for bunkering in coordination.

Required Candidate profile

  • Degree/Diploma/Certifications from any institute of chartered shipbrokers (ICS) or Maritime institution for commercial chartering and operations.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in similar role with shipper / ship operator's office.
  • Proficiency in using MS word, excel, outlook.
  • Strong legal and commercial acumen.
  • Very good oral and written communication skill, team player, ability to network in industry.
  • English speaking. Ability to speak and understand Mandarin/Hindi will be advantage
