Position Production Manager- Soap Plant

Reporting toSenior Manager - HPC

Reported by : 8-10 Supervisor - ( 4 Soap line, 1 Finishing line, 1 distillation )

Purpose & Scope for this role:

  • The Senior Executive shall oversee employees, production, efficiency of splitting and distillation plant, soap plant and toilet soap finishing lines, to make sure the plants are running smoothly, efficiently within budgeted costs and safely.
  • Strong Knowledge required on : Fat & Distillation, Saponification and Soap Batch Splitting process
  • Strong understanding of : Product Costing, Cost effectiveness in formulation & raw material selection
  • Good English communication skills and  Team training skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for production planning and inventory control
  • Increase production efficiencies, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards, while striving to improve overall GMP standards.
  • Leading, training and monitoring a highly skilled team of Supervisors, Operators, machine attendants and guide them to meet their targets.
  • Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
  • Ensure site compliance status through various Regulatory audits, QMS, GMP and 5S.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Ensure environmental safety as well as protection in and around the plant.
  • Coordinate with different departments within the factory and make sure proper discipline is implemented / followed.
  • Monitor operational hazards and trigger corrective actions.
  • Develop plant staff through training and evaluation
  • Work closely with HR, to fulfill vacant positions by timely recruitment
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste, overtime, cost outruns and implement ways of controlling it.
  • Develop SOP's and ensure adherence and Updation of the same
  • Responsible to adhere to budgets set
  • Offer support in New Product Development

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in soap manufacturing and managing Soap Plant, Toilet soap Finishing Line, FSP, FADP, SWEP and GD
  • A candidate with either Chemical/Process/mechanical Engineering degree is preferred
  • Experience in continuous saponification and drier is preferred
  • Must be able to turn plant goals and objectives into an actionable and measurable plan.
  • High degree of analysis, problem solving and creativity.
  • Proven ability to offer leadership/supervision to the production and maintenance teams in particular and to all plant staff in general to ensure minimum machine down time at optimal cost and overall efficient running of the plant
  • Experience with ERP
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including knowledge of market trends, technology, and best practices
  • Effective verbal and written skills - comfortable presenting to a group
