Positions and job description
Deck Crew (Offshore)
Salary ---- 1500-1800 QAR /M Fixed
Working Hour ----8 hrs
Air Ticket --- After 02 Year
Contract Duration Long Term - 05 years
Overtime and Special Overtime shall be admissible as per Qatar Labor Law.
Job Description:
Deck crew consists of a 3-man team as standard (Crane operator, Fully Qualified Rigger, Scaffolding Inspector) with the following base competencies along with respective core competencies.
a) Be capable of interpreting and understanding equipment user manuals and have knowledge of industrial safety.
b) Must have minimum of 3 years offshore experience in the Oil & Gas Industry
c) Must be able to assist the Discipline Technician.
d) Must be able to clean the work area.
e) Must be able to identify all test equipment and manage allocation and storage of these.
f) Must be able to transport tools & equipment to and from the work site.
g) Must be competent to perform manual handling activities safely.
h) Must be able to communicate in English (IELTS 5 or Equivalent)
i) Must be able to identify and transport Industrial Gas Cylinders around the Site as requested.
j) Must be able to manage a spares and tools storage area.
k) Must have a good understanding of QA/QC and HSE compliance procedures related to working in an offshore environment
l) Deck crew shall be helideck trained (HLO = Helideck Landing Officer and HDA = Helideck Assistants as per OPITO standards).
Crane Operator (Offshore)
a) Must be trained and certified as Offshore Stage III by a body recognized by COMPANY.
b) Must be able to read and speak English language (IELTS 5 equivalent).
c) Minimum 5 years as offshore crane operator.
d) Must have experience and knowledge of inspection of lifting equipment / cranes.
e) Must have experience and knowledge of communication methods (hand signals, radios, etc)
f) Must have a good understanding of HSE and Regulatory compliance procedures.
g) GOTCHA training for overboard work control.
h) Deck Supervisor / Services supervisor
i) Store keeper with SAP/P6 proficiency
j) Crane Level 3 certification
k) Control of logistics movements
Rigger (Offshore)
a) Must have completed minimum secondary education and hold offshore rigger qualifications (Rigger Level III) by an accreditation body recognized by COMPANY.
b) Shall be at least 25 years of age and physically fit.
c) Minimum 5 years of experience in oil and gas / petrochemical industry as offshore rigger (RL3)
d) Have skills to plan and execute routing offshore lifting operations.
e) Must be able to read and speak English language (IELTS 4 equivalent).
f) Must have a good understanding of HSE compliance procedures, regulatory requirements on lifting equipment.
g) Must be able to examine the loads, estimate the size and weight.
h) Experienced in communication methods (hand signals, radios etc)
i) Capable of inspecting the slings, ropes, hooks and lifting gears for damages such as cracks, wear, corrosion and report.
j) Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions in the rigger trade.
k) Trained as Basic Scaffolder by completing Safe erection and dismantling of scaffolds (CITB) or similar. Riggers, together with platform scaffolder(s) will form part of multi-skilled team to erect small & simple structures to support platform activities.
l) GOTCHA kit training for overboard work control.
m) Rescue team member
n) Emergency Response support team
Scaffolder (Offshore)
a) Shall have received an engineering apprenticeship or training in Scaffolding engineering, have had approximately eight (8) years proven suitable experience of which at least two (2) years have been in Inspector capacity,
b) Shall have the scaffolding inspector course certificate recognized by statutory bodies and minimum qualification from an international board (e.g. C.I.T.B.). Shall have experience in inspection and certification of scaffolding structures,
c) Able to interpret engineering drawings and have a sound knowledge of Oil and Gas industrial plant safety,
d) Should demonstrate knowledge of HSE management system applied to scaffolding in the Oil and Gas industry.
e) Shall be capable of performing all necessary administrative work.
f) Be knowledgeable in general maintenance Work on buildings & plant areas in oil and gas facilities,
g) Be able to communicate in the English (IELTS 5 Equivalent)
h) Shall be certified medically fit for Scaffolding Works and working at height.
i) Trained and deemed competent by a technically qualified assessor to OPITO Banksman and Slinger Stage 3. (NOTE - requirements are identified in the QSTL Offshore Lifting Operations Manual).
j) As a minimum, 2 out of the 3 scaffolders to be trained as Scaffold Inspector to CITB standard or equivalent. All scaffolders to be trained to minimum of Basic Scaffolder CITB standard or equivalent. NOTE Scaffold Inspectors require to maintain register and control of all onboard scaffolding activities.
k) Competent as rigger level 1 as per QSGTL standard
l) GOTCHA kit training for overboard work control.
m) Rescue team member
n) Emergency Response support team
Additional to the above, deck crew may require to hold some additional competence as part of small integrated team including but not limited to:
- COXSWAIN training - OPITO standard.
- Rescue team member,
- Confined Space attendant,
- HLO (Helideck Landing Officer and/or HDA (Helideck Assistants) as per OPITO standards).
The CONTRACTOR shall ensure stable retention of their workforce for each campaign by utilizing the offshore team for on shore activities.
