Job description
The responsibilities of Piping Designer - Offshore will include but are not limited to the following,
Responsibilities and Duties:
Detail piping design and equipment layouts within assigned area in accordance with Project specifications and standards.
Piping and equipment modeling within 2D/3D CAD environment.
Detail pipe supports and model within 2D/3D CAD environment.
Identification of design information required from other disciplines to develop and finalise design in assigned area.
Preparation of model based design deliverables. I.e. Isometrics, General arrangements, plot plans, key plans etc.
Checking of model and design deliverables.
Perform material take offs as required to support Project piping bulk procurement programme.
Report on a regular basis on all matters affecting technical problems, costs, or schedule to supervisor.
Lead small teams of designers where required.
Experience and Qualification:
Solid experience as a piping designer, plus good experience as a Senior piping designer
Experience of leading a small team of piping designers and pipe supporters.
Experience of large scale Projects. I.e. more than 2000 isometric drawings.
HNC/ONC or City and Guilds Equivalent
Be fully conversant with PDMS, draft, design, MDS and AutoCAD.
Excellent piping design and plant layout skills.
Knowledge of other disciplines requirements and timing issues.
Capable of planning, estimating and reporting on given work scope or areas
