Job description
We are looking for a Senior Risk / Loss Prevention Engineer specializing in the oil and gas industry particularly with design of FLNG, to join their FEED engineering team in Yokohama, Japan.
Responsibilities:
- Report to Lead Risk/LPE Engineer.
- Mainly manage detailed hazard and risk assessment studies performed by Safety consultants and sometimes perform in-house risk assessments, reliability analysis, and prepare Performance Standards in support of design.
- Liaise with Client Loss Prevention and Safety Case Advisers and understand their hazard and risk assessment requirements.
- Maintain close relations with JV business partners.
- Prepare detailed scope of work and Charters for formal safety assessments (FSA)
- Prepare FSA bid documents and request proposals from approved consultants.
- Prepare technical bid evaluation procedure and get them approved.
- Evaluate FSA technical proposals.
- Select consultants.
- Manage provision of accurate and timely inputs to consultants’ by early engagement with relevant engineering disciplines.
- Ensure consultants deliverables are of high quality, technically robust and timely and get them approved internally and by Client
- Manage preparation for eg HAZIDS, ALARP, HAZOPS, LOPA, SIL, and occasionally facilitate safety workshops
- Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
- BSc, MSc, or PhD degree in related engineering discipline from accredited institution from top university.
- 10 plus years of experience in safety and risk engineering in oil and gas industry.
- Experience in managing safety and risk engineering for offshore project of major oil company. .
- Familiarity with consequence analysis model such as PHAST.
- Ability to understand PFDs, and P&IDs.
- In-depth understanding of the oil and gas industry particularly related to FLNG.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills; experience in writing comprehensive technical reports.
