Inspection Engineer for Japan

    Responsible for execution of all inspection related technical work including coordination with client, licensor, vendor and other discipline engineer

    Preferred Nationality : Korean or Filippino 

    Department : Quality and Logistics Management Department
    Reporting to : Department Manager
    Location : Based in Head Office in Chiba, Japan. Business travel to project location outside of Japan required

    Start date : As Early As Possible
    Duration : 1 year (renewable) 90 days probational period applicable
    Working Hours : 40 hours a week. Overtime can be expected

    Roles & Responsibilities 
    1. Prepare and review after Purchase order related documents such as ITB Clarification Sheets, Purchaser Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) , Purchaser's inspection requirements in the requisition package, Execution plan for inspection and inspector training program
    2. Review fabrication drawings, Vendor ITP, PQR, WPS and fabrication procedures, NDE procedure, test procedure and etc submitted by Vendor
    3. Prepare complete packages with specifications, data sheets, and other pertinent information to the inspector for his advanced study and his inspection execution
    4. Participate in pre inspection meetings when it is necessary in terms of complexity and criticality on metallurgy, fabrication, welding quality control, testing and assembly
    5. Making necessary coordination with vendors, expeditors, logistics person in charge and other discipline engineers for witness inspection, and daily inspection work
    6. Attend weekly / monthly meetings relating to inspection works
    7. Audit the capability of inspectors and manufacturer

    Experience & Qualifications 
    Experience : 10 years or more as QC Engineer, of Inspection Engineer for Pressure
    Vessel Manufacturing
    Computer literacy : MS Office
    Language : Fluent in English for communication and documenting
    Educational Requirement : Bachelor's degree or equivalent
    Membership / Certification : IIW International Welding Engineer, ASNT Level 3 or equivalent preferred
    Knowledge : Fabrication of pressure vessel, Non Destructive examination, Welding, Material, 

    Competencies 
    1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work closely and effectively with other discipline engineers and with external stakeholders such as clients, partner companies and vendors etc.
    2. Good leadership skills
    3. Strong presentation skills to advise quality control
    4. Enthusiasm for project success and keeping project schedule

    Other Information 
    1. No personal restriction in working location
    2. No personal restrictions on short term, long term business trips outside of Japan
