- Prepare and review Inspection and Testing Procedures (ITP) for all electrical systems and equipment - new installations, post maintenance and modification work - and ensure they are regularly updated and are in compliance with internationally recognized standards.
- Conduct Electrical Engineering studies on aging equipment and recommend replacement as maybe required. Includes developing data sheets and specifications, list of materials and spare parts, etc.
- Conduct interface studies for power connections to new industrial customers and coordinate with Facility Planning as required to achieve the desired results.
- Review, recommend and update company Electrical standards to ensure compliance with internationally recognized professional standards.
- Develop list of materials and spare parts for electrical system operations and maintenance ensuring standardization, cost effectiveness and optimum stock levels.
- Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.
- Recommend improvements to departmental procedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of Electrical Engineering activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of Electrical Engineering activity to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
