 Tunnel Ventilation Expert



Ezzy Automations Ltd. is looking for Tunnel Ventilation Expert to join our growing team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Tunnel Ventilation Lead and will be assisting in all aspects of Tunnel Ventilation System design, review, modelling, reporting, and testing. Experience with Tunnel Ventilation Systems within the transit sector, and the related codes and standards, as well as working knowledge of fire modelling software and simulations is a must.

Most of the things you'll work on:

  • Design development, design review and sizing of Tunnel ventilation and life safety systems within underground and/or enclosed transit infrastructure.
  • Development of plans and specifications, and perform design calculations, for the design of Tunnel ventilation systems which meet project requirements and all applicable/governing codes and standards.
  • Preparation of technical reports, which may include topics such as feasibility studies, design criteria, concept designs, and simulations.
  • Coordination meetings and discussions with various disciplines and/or clients; Build good relationships with clients and various stakeholders, maintaining regular industry liaison.
  • Perform project management tasks and responsibilities to track and forecast project progress, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Assist in preparation of proposal and bid stage documents and business development activities.
  • Provide support at all stages of fire ventilation design, from reference, concept, preliminary, and final design plans, to specifications, estimates, and equipment selection.
  • Efforts made to stay current with latest changes and updates within fire ventilation design codes, standards, best practices, and innovations; Expand existing knowledge and research within Tunnel ventilation discipline through reading and/or contributing to engineering publications such as journals and articles, and through attendance of symposiums and conferences.
  • Maintain membership in good standing with relevant professional institutions related to your designation(s).
  • Assist in mentoring and reviewing of work from other tunnel ventilation engineers.


Qualifications:

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Minimum Eight (8) years of experience in the design, modeling, and analysis of Tunnel ventilation systems for underground or enclosed transit system infrastructure or equivalent experience.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer.


Technical Skills:

  • Experience with applicable regulations, codes, and standards relating to Tunnel ventilation design and testing.
  • Fundamental technical engineering knowledge.
  • Numerical modeling capabilities.
  • Experience in HVAC, fire protection, building code, train control, and power distribution systems is desired.
  • Experience in work with Zitron, System Air, Kurger or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a consulting engineering environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Subway Environment Simulation (SES) is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is desired; MicroStation is an asset.

  • Expertise in Contract Admin and Tender.





Project In Charge (MEP)





  • Assist in the receipt and review of MEP submittals.
  • Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings.
  • Assist in the scope review, budgeting and justification of MEP change work order.
  • Assist in the installation of MEP work.
  • Direct, monitor and control the activities of MEP Subcontractor.
  • Coordination and administration of MEP related materials, systems and shop drawings submittals.
  • Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between MEP Subcontractors during construction.
  • Validate design issues related to MEP and suggest alternative solutions.
  • Liaison with Consultant MEP supervisory Engineers, Inspectors and relevant staff.
  • Ensure that MEP Subcontractors provides and adheres to relevant Quality documentation/records.
  • Ensure that MEP Subcontractors adheres to Project safety regulations.
  • Assist in the testing and commissioning of MEP equipment.
  • Review contract documents, making suggestions/modifications as they relate to MEP trades.
  • Manage and lead MEP subcontractors throughout duration of the project.
  • Assist scheduling with developing detailed CPM schedules for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading.
  • Inspect Mechanical/Electrical/Systems delivered materials, Mechanical/Electrical/Systems equipment and Mechanical/Electrical/Systems field installations for compliance with Contract Documents and approved submittals.
  • Become familiar with Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Quality Management Plan/Strategy and expectations as established by SSCC Engineering staff. Include Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Quality issues in meeting discussions, daily verbal and/or written communications with Subcontractors.
  • Identify all Mechanical/Electrical/Systems field testing required to be performed by Subcontractors and witnessed by Company. Witness and sign-off tests conducted by Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Subcontractors. Maintain files for all Mechanical/Electrical/Systems testing and report deviations/corrective measure status.
  • Work with superintendent on project logistics/temporary facility plans.
  • Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with project manager and field staff.
  • Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed.
  • Review/approve material and equipment for MEP systems prior to installation and monitor installation/start-up.
  • Develop an MEP Schedule of Values and assist in billing process.

Requirements:


  • Experienced in construction/MEP coordination (Metro Rail).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering field.
  • Post-Graduation Degree or any certification in relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Up to mark Email & Verbal Communication.
  • General knowledge of construction principles/practices required.
  • Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, low-voltage systems & BMS.
  • Depending on the performance, resource may transfer to any international regional office of the company.
  • General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction.
  • Proficient in the use of BIM software such as AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
  • Experienced dealing with MEP subcontracts and subcontractors


NBHaving work experience in Bangladesh would be an added advantage
