The Civil Construction Foreman responsibility is to handle all aspects related to craft personnel and construction equipment management and the making of decisions pertaining to production on a daily basis.
The foreman directs the day-to-day activities of equipment operators, laborers and other craft employees and has the capability to manually complete any activity when necessary. Responsibilities include: pre-planning work for a crew, providing training opportunities for craftspersons and overseeing safety procedures, quality of workmanship, production costs, and the morale and attitude of a crew.
Other responsibilities include: overseeing individual projects to assure compliance with the scope and quality as established by the contract documents; enforcement of site cleanliness, safety, health, and substance abuse programs; proactively anticipating and solving problems that could delay construction; promoting and instilling TMG s values into the workforce; managing the permit and inspection process and attending and conducting regularly scheduled progress meetings.
Land Surveyor
Experience: 5 to 10 yrs
Land surveyors use a combination of traditional instruments and digital technology to measure the shape of the land and gather data for civil engineering and construction projects. Projects can range from building roads and tunnels to mining and quarrying.

You will normally need a degree or postgraduate qualification in surveying or a related subject like construction or engineering to get into this career.
Civil Draughtsman
Experience: 5 to 10 yrs
1) Produce drawings using computer assisted drafting systems (CAD) or drafting machines or by hand using compasses, dividers, protractors, triangles and other drafting devices.
2) Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects such as highways, sewage disposal systems, and dikes, working from sketches or notes. 3) Draw maps, diagrams, and profiles, using cross-sections and surveys, to represent elevations, topographical contours, subsurface formations and structures. 4) Correlate, interpret, and modify data obtained from topographical surveys, well logs, and geophysical prospecting reports. 5) Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages, according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction, using blueprinting, photography, or other duplicating methods. 6) Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from civil engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts. |
