Senior Network Engineer for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Qualifications 
• Graduate in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with Minimum 6 + years professional experience, of which at least 5 should have been spent in networking
Major Responsibilities
Operational
• Assists IT management in designing, building & efficiently operating the voice, data, wireless & video networks, spanning data centers, Exchange Bldg, local/national/international & value-added components where applicable. 
• Analyzes, evaluates & recommends technical requirements & specifications for the seamless integration of networking resources.
• Supports planning/installation of networking equipment, systems & services.
• Coordinates the efforts of assigned personnel as required by the scope of work.
• Prepares layouts, configurations & bills of materials as a normal part of project assignments.
• Improves customer satisfaction in reliability, availability & cost of network services.
• Participates in selected aspects of user consulting, system analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts & detailed systems designs.
• Reviews work for compliance with established guidelines of best-practice industrial/enterprise standards &/or national & international standards organizations.
• Delivers the appropriate level of documentation to support recommendations.
• Meets with management as required & provides status reports as required.
• Recommends changes in hardware, software & network configurations to maintain/improve delivery of service.
• Provides input to management for design changes or improved operations of campus IP backbone.
• Primary interface with vendors to resolve telecommunications/network system-related problems.
• Participates with vendors to assess network services, including beta or proof-of-concept tests.
• Schedules & prioritizes work to accommodate IT & customer needs while minimizing impact on current projects & network operations.
• Informs management of potential network architecture/design problems before they occur & communicates solutions.
• Reporting
• Escalates risks, issues & recommended resolution/remediation to the Lead Network Engineer.
• Briefs Lead or Department Manager on project issues & status as required.
• Facilitation:
• Implements network design best practices
• Assists in educating IT staff dealing with end-users on how to best use telecommunications services. Works closely with other IT groups to resolve problems & implement changes or new services.
