Assistant Ground Operations Manager for Papua New Guinea

    Roles & Responsibilities:
    • Managing aviation ground and air operation within Company Management and Policy Manuals.
    • Responsible most effective and cost efficient operations in line with contract compliance.
    • ensure effective planning of resources and maintenance whilst maintaining contract compliance.
    • Provide responses to audit findings and take definitive action develop & implement remedial/corrective action.
    • Accountable for the most cost effective utilization of manpower and resources to meet the company customer expectations.
    • Co-ordinate all operations functions including Safety, Security to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, standards and practices.
    • Assist in formulation of policy and in the determination of strategic matters, forward planning and initiatives relevant to the management and development of the Base.
    • Ensure that operational staff is appropriately trained, with particular emphasis on regulatory requirements, emergency response and work place health and safety.
    • Responsible for incident reporting, follow-up, support investigation and closure.
    • Client communication, visiting bases and improving client relationships.
    • Staff appraisal, development, ongoing training programs and motivation.
    • Manage the delays that take in the flight timings.
    • Constant update to operation staffs on newer and safer ways of coordinating operations.
    • Manage and conduct ground handling training for all ground handling staffs

    Qualification:
    • Minimum 5 years of Aviation Management experience and ground handling experience
    • Willingness to work in remote areas or previous experience will be an added advantage .
    • Demonstrated management skills, particularly in managing complex organizational projects and a multicultural environment.
    • Demonstrated high level of written English ability in areas such as preparation of reports, correspondence and procedural manuals.
    • Proven experience in asset management and in the supervision and direction of staff and contractors involved in that work.
    • Demonstrated experience in safety and security related work with a good appreciation of the high standards required in the aviation industry
