A large and reputable international firm specializing in a wide range of services in the field of Earth Engineering and Environmental Services is looking to fill in a position of a Senior Environmental Engineer/Consultant at its newly opened operational office in Atyrau, Western Kazakhstan.

Senior Environmental Engineer/Consultant
Overview:
This is the level of senior personnel reporting to the Environmental Resource Group Manager. The focus of this role is to deliver best practice environmental and asocial consulting services to clients
Key Responsibilities:
Advanced technical and project management of middle of large size environmental and social projects
Manages interdisciplinary teams, including sub-contractors
Provides leadership, especially through mentoring of junior colleagues
Responsible for quality of project deliverables (e.g. reports) before peer review
Leads the practice of health & safety in projects
Involved in business development: liaises with (key) clients, manages proposals and tenders
Observe health & safety rules in projects
Develop and implement measures ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, and requirements; as well as measures ensuring rational and sustainable use of natural resources
Develop, or actively participate in the development of, environmental standards and norms, ensuring control and monitoring of the same
Develop, submit and approve EIAs/OVOS (ESIAs, EHSIAs), PDV, PDO, PDS
Develop measures ensuring protection and prevention of environmental pollution, compliance with environmental standards and good industrial practices for safe operations and health safety, prevention of industrial accidents
Prepare and submit relevant reports to regulatory authorities (territorial departments of the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Emergencies, Sanitary and Hygiene Inspectorates, and other relevant stakeholders) in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Provide leadership in identifying, chasing business opportunities, preparation and submission of proposals
Skills:
Demonstrated experience in contaminate site investigation, environmental and social impact assessments, due diligences assessments, and/or environmental, health & safety management, gained within a consultancy firm or regulatory environment
Proven interpersonal and communication expertise
Leadership skills ant project level
Advanced skills with computer software (MS Office) and other specialized software (GIS, environmental modeling, etc.)
Proven knowledge of the legislation (Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other applicable by-laws and regulations)
Proven knowledge of Environmental methodologies and pertinent documents (instructions, rules, methods etc.)
Proven experience in preparation, submission and approval of OVOS (EIA), PDS, PDO, PDV
Proven knowledge of regulatory system, i.e. Environmental Protection authorities, procedures for submitting and approving Environmental reports and documents
Upper-intermediate or Advanced technical English language with ability to communicate efficiently, written skills at report-writing level
Qualifications:
Higher education diploma in environmental or social sciences or environmental engineering
Post-graduate qualifications are highly desirable
Key certifications are a preference
Work experience of no less than 5 years
