Technical Writer
Position Description and General Responsibilities
1.
Report to Quality Supervisor and Interface with the company Quality
Management Supervisor and Organizational Quality Team Leads. He has
responsibility to review and write a comprehensive set of procedures /
instructions / specifications to cover Quality Management processes for
company.
2.
Employ tracking and reporting databases and systems as determined
necessary to ensure document completions are done in a timely manner.
3.
Provide regular reviews of the quality system, and develop, maintain,
and facilitate implementation of the Quality Management procedures.
4.
Develop Quality Management Plans to include requirements to be
implemented during all phases by company and all contractors and
suppliers.
5.
Assist company in the development of a Quality Manual, Quality Plans
and Procedures and implementation of Quality Management Procedures.
6. Play active role in deployment of project safety culture.
7. Ensure good housekeeping at all times and timely completion of actions to resolve safety issues
8.
Remain knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures and perform
assigned duties in a safe manner and, while leading others, has
responsibility for their safety and ensures they comply with established
safety policies and procedures, and practice safe work habits.
9. Provide guidance and participate in career and professional development of team members.
10.
Monitor and evaluate team member’s performance against expectations
including Operational Excellence and Quality Team Values. Train,
develop, mentor, provide guidance and participate in career development
of local inspectors to provide inspection and oversight of contractors
and suppliers.
11. Employ Operational Excellence and Quality Team Values to achieve continuous improvement and performance excellence.
12.
Review and sign Position Description, and participate in weekly team
meetings to review progress and status of Quality and Project
initiatives.
Profile and Key Selection Criteria
• Highly motivated individual that is capable of leading high performance team.
• Strong Quality, Training and performance improvement background and leadership experience.
•
Strong written and verbal communication skills and working knowledge of
computer programs including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• If not already certified, must be qualified and capable of gaining Auditor Certification.
•
College graduate or equivalent professional experience in construction
projects and quality, auditing, document turnover, training and
continuous process improvement programs.
