Unix Engineer for Malaysia

Minimum of 5+ years- hands-on technical knowledge of the applicable technology platform that you will be responsible for: AS/400 / Mainframe, Backup, Batch Monitoring, Database, Messaging / Collaboration, Middleware / Web, Network management, SAP, Security, Storage, Non-Stop (Tandem), UNIX / Linux, Windows, WorkPlace Services, and HP Open View Products.

Must be able to demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

UNIX/LINUX - Technical Skills Specifically required MUST HAVE:

Deep level knowledge & certification of UNIX (Solaris and AIX) & Linux required.

Intermediate or advance knowledge in the following areas will be an added advantage.

This includes:

- Clustering & high availability management (HACMP, Sun Cluster)

- File system, LVM

- Hardware faults (EMS)

- Health Check

- Kernel messages

- NAT/PAT

- Performance evaluation

- Unix Backup

- Unix Permission

- Unix Processes

- User Management

- System Security Admin.

- HA Configurations, setup & maintenance

- TCP/IP

- File Manager (SUN Zoning)

- LVM/JFS (HP)

- Performance tools - eg) BMC Best 1

- Systems Management Tools - eg) HP ITO, SAM

- Scripting (Korn, Bourne, Perl)

- SMTP (send-mail/virus scan)

- Kernel Re-building

- Good broad networking knowledge

- Knowledge of Oracle Database

- Web server (Apache)

- Experience in HP Sitescope monitoring will be an added advantage.
