- As a line chef, you would be working on a variety of stations in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Provide the highest and most efficient level of hospitality service to the hotel guests.
- Works in the designated station as set by Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef.
- Able to organize the assigned work area and efficiently put away orders.
- Able to prepare and sells food within recommended time frames to meet Guest expectations.
- Able to operate kitchen equipment like braising pan, baking ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Able to produce quality product in a timely and efficient manner for the guests or staff.
- Responsible to maintain cleanliness, sanitation at the assigned work area.
- Responsible for preparing and cooking all food items by the recipe and to specification.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
- Prepare all menu items by strictly following recipes and yield guide.
- Cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist.
- Prepares, seasons, and cooks a wide variety of meats, vegetables, soups, breakfast dishes and other food items.
- Slices, grind and cooks meats and vegetables using a full range of cooking methods.
- Wash and peel fresh fruits, vegetables and also able to weigh, measure and mix ingredients on correct proportions.
- Have general knowledge of cooking temperatures, making soups & sauces, preparing entrees,vegetable preparation and a la carte cooking.
- Set-up the station with par stocks of menu items, and prepare the dishes designated for that station.
- Checks supplies and prep lists and ensures all items are prepped in a timely fashion.
- Replenishes service lines as needed and restocks and prepares the workstation for the next shift.
- Ensures that all products are stored properly in the correct location at the appropriate levels at all times.
- Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods and report any incidents to the Sous Chef to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
- Serve food in proper portions on to correct serving vessels and plates.
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area, workstations, tables, tools, knives and other equipment.
- Maintain correct portion size and quality of the food to the hotel's standards.
- Minimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food cost.
- Review status of work and follow-up actions required with the Head Cook before leaving.
- Assists in providing on the job training & development of new cooks.
- Assists other Team Members in the kitchen when needed or perform any other tasks assigned by the hotel management.

He / She is responsible for creating an exceptional culinary experience for the guests through preparation, cooking and food presentation. Takes leadership role during the absence of the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
Must adhere to all sanitation regulations and requirements and also responsible for the correct handling and preparation of all food items and equipment. This position will also assist the Chef de partie (CDP) or Sous Chef to plan and prepare quality service for the food and beverage production
department.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Under the general direction of the Maintenance in charge and within the limits of the hotels policies and procedures ensure that routine maintenance is performed in order for the hotels equipment to be operated with maximum efficiency to achieve customer and guest satisfaction.
- Perform all routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance.
- Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms.
- Maintain a level of broader knowledge which enables you to handle minor problems in all fields of the department.
- Attend to all types of repairs and maintenance work in the Hotel premises, including any new additions/extensions to the Hotel or any other properties maintained by the Hotel.
- Repair and maintain all plant and machinery, guest room facilities, light facilities, air conditioning units, plumbing units, furniture and equipment, wiring and welding.
- Assist with the implementation of the hotels preventive maintenance system and repair log system.
- Prioritize work in line with guest requests and management priorities.
- Record daily service work.
- Implement and carry out maintenance program in accordance with established time frames as set by Maintenance in charge.
- Complete daily reports outlining work undertaken for the day, including job request dockets sactioned.
- Participate in supporting colleagues on the proper operation, safety procedures and cleaning of all equipment
- Support the department in efficient and effective use of recycling methods.
- Establish and maintain proper parts of inventory levels when required and to keep stock of necessary items.
- Conduct and/or participate in staff meetings regarding proper operating and maintenance practices of equipment.
- Carry out and document regular inspections of plant and equipment in computerized system.
- Support department to ensure that appropriate files are maintained and resources kept for future reference.
- Assist tradesmen and colleagues with maintenance and repairs at all times.
- Respond to requests from departments regarding minor or major maintenance issues throughout the day.
- Serve as an active part of the hotel fire party.
- Good English verbal and written communication skills.
