ROLE:
- Shop floor Production and Assembly of Mechanical/Heavy Industrial Equipments.
- Designation: Technician (Fabrication)
EDUCATION: ITI Fitter (Mechanical) / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
EXPERIENCE: Having 4-9 years of working experience in construction & fabrication of heavy industrial equipment industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Production/Fabrication of heavy mechanical/industrial equipments like boilers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, large food containers, pipes, rotary equipments etc.
- Understand the engineering drawings/specifications of the components to be produced/assembled.
- Identify the exact raw material (e.g. Carbon Steel/Stainless Steel,... etc.) to be used for production.
- Fabrication and Machine work: use of metal cutting torches, shears, bending machines, lathes, power saws, chipping knives, drilling, boring, grinding, tapping machines, tack welding as needed.
- Inspection of fabricated parts and testing of assemblies, replacing defective components as needed.
- On site erection, commissioning & installation of equipments/assemblies produced/fabricated.
- Ensure the timely completion of the project activity, according to the project timelines.
DESIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Must have technical knowledge of manufacturing and installation of mechanical equipments/welded steel components like boilers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, large food containers, pipes, rotary equipments etc.
- Working experience in manufacturing of pressure vessel, boiler, large steel containers, heavy industrial equipment industry will be preferred.
- Must be able to read, interpret and understand technical drawings/designs, reports and presentations.
- Hands on basic machining operations (cutting, bending, drilling, boring, grinding, fitment,... etc.)
- Hands on basic welding technique (knowledge of tack welding).
- Experience in handling mechanical hand tools, equipments, portable devices etc.
- Experience in material handling equipments like lifting platform, bridge crane, forklift, pallet truck etc.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:
- Ability to understand & explain complex technical concepts to others.
- Communication: Understand & speak in English language and Writing skills - documentation & reports.
- Highly motivated and team-orientated.
- Flexible to handle changing priorities and tight schedules.
