A vacancy has arisen for an experienced paint Chemist/Technologist to work in our rapidly expanding coatings division based in Dartford, Kent, UK. Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will be technically responsible for the on-going research and development, maintenance and improvement of our expanding range of specialist solvent and water based coatings for the window, door and glass industry as well as overseeing the Quality control in our day to day manufacturing department.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years experience within the paints and coatings sector. Must have relevant university degree, be fluent in English have good communication and organizational skills and an ability to work alone.
Key tasks include:
- Management for new product development
- Liaising with sales colleagues in relation to NPD
- Sourcing of raw materials and products for NPD
- Responsibility for dealing with customer technical issues and requests
- Conducting laboratory tests in order to verify product suitability
- Responsible for quality control with the production dept. ensuring that formulae and mixing instructions are kept up to date.
- Assisting with the appropriate documentation relating to TDS.
- Training & Mentoring junior staff
Working in this small manufacturing division, a good work ethic and willingness to assist where required is essential.
