Key Accountabilities:
Contribute towards the development and implementation of the strategic plan for EKFC as a key member of the leadership team.
Lead and collaborate with direct reports to ensure that the strategy and direction is defined and communicated and the highest levels of productivity, efficiency, financial rigor and automation are achieved.
Ensure the day to day operational issues are optimised whilst maintaining profit margins and alignment to international best practice.
Create an open and transparent culture aligned to EKFC strategy and values within the team through on going open communication, cross functional relationships to maximise synergies, providing a quality focus across all business issues and processes.
Provide coaching / mentoring to direct reports in the optimisation of their personal potential, so that the capabilities of the department and the corporate objectives are met and / or exceeded.
Advice the senior management within EKFC and the Board on complex and strategic finance, IT and business issues and demonstrate credibility as a proven expert.
Plan, develop and implement the strategy for Finance, IT, Company Secretariat and Legal functions in alignment to the overall EKFC strategy whilst maximising overall profitability and minimising risk/costs.
Direct the legal, company secretariat and insurance functions ensuring that the company is safeguarded against legislative and compliance based requirements to achieve the best results at an organisation level.
Contribute to business planning and to evaluate business cases, business development plans, new business opportunities, establish performance targets and achieve optimisation of cost and maximisation of revenue to remain competitive and aligned with EKFC’s short term and long-term objectives.
Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities and staff requirements by identifying resources and developing action plans.
Lead and direct the corporate functions to support continuous improvement and automation of service offerings whilst adhering to international practices.
Responsible for the preparation and control of the operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditures and investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems or other assets and resources for the smooth functioning of the business. Educate business managers to raise their level of knowledge and application of financial discipline in their management of their functional areas.
Preparation of statutory accounts, financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and guidelines including the production of financial reports.
Lead the annual budget exercise in consultation with key stakeholders and provide a reporting mechanism to facilitate overall budgetary control.
Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold levels to meet business needs.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best interests for the company.
Support the Chief Executive Officer in representing the company to the community, government bodies and local authorities and to maintain a highly favourable image in local and regional markets.
Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and the external auditors as necessary.
Develop organisation financial wellbeing by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities, providing advice on acquisition and expansion prospects, analysing organisation operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and systems enhancement.
Monitors financial performance by measuring and analysing results, initiating corrective actions and minimizing the impact of variances.
Maximises return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities and maintaining relationships with the investment community.
Reports financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analysing variances and developing improvements.
Lead and direct by taking affirmative action on recommendations made to working processes, work behaviours and conditions to ensure that all employees have a safe and healthy working environment.
Ensure implementation of the company’s Occupational Health and Safety system and procedures so that all employees have a safe and healthy working environment and the organization complies with all current and future regulations and laws
Experience and Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree holder or an ACA and a MBA degree preferred with specialisation in IT or Finance.
15 years’ progressive experience leading a similar function of Finance, It and Legal within a large organisation
Able to lead a range of functions and have the breadth of experience with planning and operational responsibilities
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, accounting policies and practice.
Expertise in the areas of financial planning and strategy, managing profitability, promoting process improvement, forecasting, corporate finance, developing budgets, financial skills
Exceptional strategic, leadership and change management skills
Creative and innovative leader, with excellent influencing and problem solving skills
Strong ability to organise and mentor teams as well as manage programs with a keen attention to detail and quality
Project management skills and the ability to coordinate and oversee a number of projects concurrently across multiple functional departments.
