Position: IT Engineer Unix/Linux Shell Script Development

Qualification

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related qualification.

Job requirements

• At least 3-5 years of Unix/Linux shell script development experience.
• Proficiency with Windows shell scripting will be an added advantage.
• Proficient with SQL statements and relational databases.
• Working experience with Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and/or Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
• Proficient with systems integration methods between CIM and MES systems.
• Customer/user IT requests fulfillment and support within the stipulated timeline.
• Strong technical background with good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good interaction skill with customer/user is required.

Job functions

• Analyse, design, develop, test, deploy and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts in CIM/MES systems and interfaces to other systems.
• Work closely with other functional teams to deliver customer/user IT requests in a timely manner.
• Gather requirements for system enhancement/modification from customer/user.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues arising from the Unix/Linux shell scripts in CIM/MES systems and the interfaces to other systems.
• Work closely with Infrastructure team to implement high availability, clustering, failover and/or disaster recovery solutions for CIM/MES systems.
• Provide relevant system and user documentation

Position: IT Engineer Staff/ Sr Unix/ Linux System Administration

Qualification

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related qualification.

Job requirements

• At least 3-5 years of Unix/Linux system administration working experience.
• System administration experience with top-notch MES (e.g. FACTORYworks, Workstream, Fab300) and/or ERP (e.g. SAP Basis, Oracle) systems will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of system, server and storage technologies especially in the areas of high availability, clustering, failover and disaster recovery.

• Good knowledge of system, server and storage problem troubleshooting and preventive measures.
• Strong technical background with good analytical and problem solving skills.

Job functions

• Consistently monitor system, server and storage resources and usage.
• Proactively address potential issues such as performance degradation, reliability and security breach.
• Configure and put in place system, server and storage resources utilization and health checks using monitoring tools and alerts.

• Install new system, server and storage upgrades, update patches and fixes when necessary.
• Undertake operating system, server and storage resources tuning to optimize application performance.
• Implement system, server and storage disaster recovery, backup and recovery procedures to ensure minimum downtime in a 24*7 operating environment
