Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Certified Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development of children, following the Montessori philosophy and principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Management:
- Lead a Montessori classroom for children in the designated age group.
- Maintain a prepared environment with Montessori materials that align with the curriculum and meet the developmental needs of the children.
- Instruction and Curriculum:
- Plan and implement lessons in accordance with Montessori principles, encouraging self-directed learning and exploration.
- Observe and assess each child’s progress, tailoring support and lessons to individual learning needs.
- Facilitate both group and individual activities to foster academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Child Development and Care:
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and caring community among students.
- Promote independence, responsibility, and positive social interactions.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly via Brightwheel App with parents about their child's progress through conferences, written reports, and informal discussions.
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan school events, activities, and curriculum enhancements.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
- Classroom Environment:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing classroom.
- Ensure that materials are complete, in good condition, and rotated periodically to reflect the changing interests and developmental stages of the children.
- Tours and Parent Engagement:
- Conduct classroom tours for prospective parents, showcasing the Montessori environment and explaining the philosophy and daily routines.
- Answer questions from parents with professionalism and enthusiasm, providing a clear understanding of the school’s mission and teaching methods.
Qualifications
- Montessori Certification from an accredited institution (AMS, AMI, or MACTE).
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience as a Montessori teacher or in a similar educational setting.
- Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and with patience, warmth, and creativity.
