Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical engineering specialization or equivalent professional qualification, Master degree would be an advantage
  • Qualification in training & development is considered as advantage

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a technical field in Power Plant.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical training

JOB PURPOSE


Trainer, Technical position develops, designs, conducts, evaluates, prepares and facilitates training for individuals or groups within a framework of available programs, in order to meet identified development requirements.


RESPONSIBILITES

  • Regularly conducts classroom Training sessions for Industrial employees.
  • Prepares presentations and training material for conducting training sessions for Industrial employees.
  • Conducts Evaluations for the Industrial employees on Trainings.
  • Conducts programs to internal audiences as required in order to impart learning to company employees.
  • Supports Line Organizations for conducting Training (Job Task) Needs Analysis.
  • Keep himself up to date on actual plant conditions and technologies, maintains awareness of externally available programs in order to identify appropriate training opportunities.
  • Assists in the maintenance of accurate training records, to ensure an accurate audit trail is maintained and is managed appropriately.
  • Assist the Supervisor, Technical Training and Specialist, Technical Training in the formulation of annual training calendar.
  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of Training activity to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Ensures Training KPIs meet targets while maintaining quality.
  • Provides support for the Design, development and implementation of plant specific technical training programs, aligned with the Job Task requirements
  • Support and assist the Specialist, Technical Training in the review and modification of Question Banks
  • Plan for further development and monitor the progress of attendees against agreed courses of action, in order to ensure follow-up on training and consolidation of learning.
  • Continuously analyze plant operation and plant maintenance condition, including RCA action items, determine potential operational or maintenance issues, difficulties, challenges or failure, and provide training on the same
  • Revise identified training programs based on the agreed recommendation of Specialist, Technical Training, including JTS requirements
  • Advises employees and management on appropriate training courses, counselling individuals as necessary, to match requirements with the most suitable programs available.
  • Review and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs, identifying any changes required and ensures these are carried out to deliver trainings that best meet the needs of internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support by conducting technical proofing and validation for accuracy of developed plant specific training materials, while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Carry out functions to effectively conduct and implement power plant and/or desalination plant operation training using Operation Training Simulator based on approved STP and associated TOI and OCOP.
  • Maintains the Operations Training Simulator updated as per the actual plant conditions such as operation functionalities, control logics, limits, setpoints and control graphics, propose budgetary requirements for enhancing and upgrading the system (hardware/software) to keep the system abreast with actual plant
  • Ensure that all Control Room Operators met the required certification, based on the JTS, including ASK standards, provide re-certification as necessary
  • Liaise with Specialist, Technical Training regarding actions from Root Cause Analysis, in particular, in areas of plant operation failure and difficulties
  • Ensures the design and presentations of training programs are in compliance with Company Standards and contents are applicable to company's core businesses.
  • Continuously analyze plant operation and determine potential operational issues, difficulties, challenges or failure, formulate required instructions, simulator programs to implement the same
  • Recommends improvements for departmental procedures and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of Training activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
  • Support and assist the Supervisor, Technical Training and Specialist, Technical Training during revision of JTS and IDP
  • Prepare an entry level simulator training program for Field Operators who have potential to occupy CRO vacancy
  • Prepares all related Simulator Training systems and instrumentalities, such as Simulator Training Plan, relevant TOI and approved OCOP, evaluation criteria, and appropriate Initial conditions and applicable malfunctions for training
  • Ensure that all Control Room Operators met the required certification (qualification standards), based on the JTS, including ASK standards, provide re-certification as necessary
  • Provide functional supervision to Expert Trainers in the area of effective training and adult learning principles.
