As a Die Casting Technician, you'll be a key member in a fast-paced environment, responsible for the loading and setting of HPD tools into Aluminium Cold Chamber High Pressure Die Casting machines (150 to 800 ton), ensuring optimisation of machines, tools, process and personnel.

Your role is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of manufacturing and processing operations. You will improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.

Position: Die Casting Technician / Setter

Summary of Responsibilities

Position involves set up and managing of high pressure die casting machines in a safe and efficient manner. You will also be responsible for the quality of the product being produced.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years experience in setting high pressure die casting machines.
• Fluent English speaker
• Fully competent in setting high pressure die casting machines for sampling and production in an efficient and safe manner
• Able to pressure die cast and adjust machines to provide high quality product and maximum yield
• Familiar with basic hydraulic and pneumatics system
• The ability to troubleshoot equipment or quality problems when they appear
• Basic mechanical skills and use of hand tools is required
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment
• Ability to use measuring devices
• Basic PC knowledge would be helpful
• Need the ability to learn quickly
• Must be able to understand written instructions
• High school diploma or general education
• Ability to read, write and understand English language
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos

Desirable Skills

• Experience of setting related equipment including robots, auto-sprays, auto-ladles and cell peripheral equipment
• Ability to plan production and shift patterns in line with customer demands
• Able to carry out quality checks including First and Last off inspection and sign off
• Maintain HPD tools, including but not limited to servicing and repair
• Understand casting alloy grades, properties and applications

Work Environment

Working environment includes office and manufacturing plant

Must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with team members of all departments, management, customers and suppliers

Salary is 38,000 GBP - 45,000 GBP per annum (depending on experience)
