Civil Engineer Job in Fuchs Construction Company, Tanzania

Fuchs Construction is a Leading organisartion in Tanzania in the Construction industry servicing some of the most prestigious clients such as the World Bank, Government etc. 

Fuchs Construction Undertake various construction projects that are directly under the supervision of international governmental bodies.

We are looking for a new civil engineer for our expanding number of projects.

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, dams, water supply, and sewage systems. The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Roe & responsibilities

Project Design and Development:

- Develop detailed designs and drawings using CAD software.

- Prepare specifications for materials and processes.

- Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects.

- Evaluate potential construction sites by conducting feasibility assessments and environmental impact studies.

Construction Management:

- Oversee the construction process to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

- Monitor project progress, resolve design issues, and provide technical advice to ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.

- Coordinate and manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

- Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, safety, and environmental regulations.

- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.

- Conduct tests on materials to ensure they meet required standards.

Stakeholder Coordination:

- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, architects, and other engineering professionals.

- Prepare and present reports to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.

- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technical staff.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain project documentation, including blueprints, schedules, budgets, and reports.

- Prepare project status reports and present them to stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications and Skills:

- **Education:**

- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

- Diploma in Civil Engineering will also be considered.

Experience:

- Minimum of [3] years of experience in civil engineering or related fields.

- Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects.

- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).

- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.

- Competence in using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

- Soft Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Other Requirements:

- Ability to work in various environmental conditions.

- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

You will be required to man various projects at different parts of Tanzania, depending upon the project. So you will be required to travel, stay at the place till the project is handed over.
