Estimation Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Understand the project and its requirements. Select and track important metrics. Visit project sites to gather information.

Able to prepare detailed BOQ quantity take-off. Research construction documents and analyse specifications. Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labour for construction projects.

Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions. Prepare estimates to meet project submission goals such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, and assignment of members.

Ensure relevant documents and budgets are submitted by the required timeline. Maintain project bid registers.

Post-tender works: Able to compile actual works completed according to the tendered BOQ with respect to manpower and material, prepare justification for variances in actual vs budget.

Maintain accurate logs of variations and additional works not identified in the BOQ. Ensure proper approvals are obtained for such variations and additional works.

Maintain current records of material prices and labour costs.

Source out subcontractors and vendors with respect to required specifications.

Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders.

Reasonable skills in research and proposal writing.

Regular reporting to management and keeping clients informed on the project status.

Mentor/train other members within the estimation team. Review the work of other estimators as needed to ensure submission of accurate and competitive bids

MEP Engineer

Able to manage multiple MEP project sites.

Ensure there are minimal problems from the design to the delivery stage.

Using project management software, AutoCAD and word processing programs to create MEP plans.

Prepare cost estimates for electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems.

Oversee the work at the project sites and ensure adherence to the project schedule.

Coordinate on-site work with architects, structural engineers, consultant, and vendors.

Provide MEP system installation, maintenance and technical advice to service providers, supervisors and inspectors.

Inspect, analyse and find solutions for engineering issues related to the MEP features.

Review and evaluate the work of contractors, consultants and other construction industry professionals.

Review drawings and installation method statements to ensure they comply with the MEP design plan.

Make technical clarifications to resolve coordination issues and design modifications to suit specific on-site construction requirements.

Monitor and maintain on-site health and safety policies and explain the necessity of complying with these to the MEP execution crew.

Undertake off-site inspections of MEP equipment and materials to ensure compliance with regulations and project suitability.

Procurement Manager

1. Need technical knowledge to order equipment, hardware and machinery parts for a company

2. Negotiating with suppliers and overseeing the delivery and payment processes

3. Analyzing processes, products and inspection results to identify and correct problems.

4. Preparing product or project definitions, specification and test equipment designs

5. Developing procurement plans based on strategic business objectives

6. Evaluating supplier performance based on quality, price, delivery time, or other factors,

7. Ensuring compliances with laws and regulations by conducting audits of suppliers records

8. Preparing negotiating and analyzing costs for tenders and contracts

9. Reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates

10. Co- ordinate with all project team.
