Position: Senior CNC Machinist (Milling and Lathe)


Role & responsibilities

  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports;
  • Set up and adjust production machineries/tools;
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces;
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables in metric and standard;
  • Calculating Work Offsets (all axes);
  • Indicating and Edge Finding;
  • Understand program/D-Comps, part edge and center path programming;
  • Tightening and clamping pressures (i.e. 'Free State' condition and part clamped maintaining free state);
  • Proving out new and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts and conducting first off inspections;
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers);
  • Edit programs to optimize and/or correct machine performance;
  • Take immediate and appropriate action whenever a deviation or non-conformance is identified;
  • Write programs at controller to perform simple operations;
  • Optimize CNC Programs, feeds and speeds, as needed;
  • Machining of higher complexity parts with a wide range of different materials;
  • Work closely with programmer to develop machining processes for new parts;
  • Train new employees to safely and efficiently operate milling machines;
  • Overlook operators and assist with any issues;
  • Follow preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Work closely with the Machining Supervisor towards continually improving the machining department

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience - 5 to 7 Years.
