Logistic Coordinator


Job description

Candidate should be Graduate in Logistics with at least 5 experience years in a reputed

Freight forwarding or Vessel Chartering enterprise or Any Trading /Manufacturing-

Export/Import company with experience in Dangerous Goods handling.

Its an immediate opening, hence candidates must join within 1-2 days of offer

acceptance.

So, candidates with notice period kindly not apply for this position.

The post entitles the candidate to head the Logistics Functions for the plant and be very well

versed in below functions.

1. Vessel Chartering, Dry Container, ISO tanks, Road transport within GCC,

2. Shore Tanks Lease and Charters

3. Customs formalities and border formalities within UAE and GCC

4. Well versed with the Shipping industry and Main Shipping Lines and ISO Tank Operators.

5. Well versed with vessel owners globally carrying petrochemicals and routes and space

nominations

6. Cross trades in Dry Containers and well versed in switch documents

7. Very well versed with BL Formalities and LC terms and conditions for Bulk and FCL

Cargoes.

8. Negotiating and drafting of contracts and fixtures for all of the above roles and

professionally representing and managing the groups logistics team members.

9. Must Experience in Handling Dangerous Goods.

Role will have focus on;

1) Coordinating with the shipping lines, transporters, clearing agents for Custom clearing,

related parties and govt authorities for Import & export shipments.

2) Execution of export documentation (pre & post shipment) requirements for shipment from

Jebel Ali to destinations especially in Africa, ME, GCC & Europe which include Letter of

Credit shipment, commercial invoice, packing list, etc. Ensure that all documentation meets

export regulations.

3) Preparing documents from Chamber of commerce and Attestation by Embassy & MOFA

4) Follow up with customers and shipping line for Import/Export shipments and must know

the status of all shipments.

5) Update the status of each shipment documentation on excel sheet and submit the report

to reporting manager on daily basis

6) To arrange shipping documents in a timely manner without any discrepancies.

7) communicate concerned party (supplier and customer) to give shipping advice and share

documents in a timely manner.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Scheduling import and export shipment documents- plan weekly.

2. Submit Shipment Documents Status- daily (excel report).

3. Sending export shipping documents to customers in a timely manner.

4. Communicate with concerned parties (such as supplier & customer) in a timely manner.


KEY CHALLENGES:

  • Handling 150-200export documents.
  • Learning product line up to have well understanding of products.
  • Broad logistics knowledge required.

Transport Coordinator - Petrochemical

Job Summary:

The Transport Coordinator for the petrochemical sector is responsible for managing

and optimizing the transportation logistics of petrochemical products. This role

involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, coordinating with carriers, and

facilitating effective communication between various departments to ensure timely

and safe delivery of products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Transportation Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop and implement efficient transportation plans for the movement of

petrochemical products.

  • Monitor and adjust schedules to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing

costs.

2. Carrier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select appropriate transportation carriers for

petrochemical shipments.

  • Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with third-party logistics

providers.


3. Regulatory Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal

regulations related to hazardous materials and petrochemical products.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure proper training for all transport

personnel on safety procedures.

4. Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records for all shipments, including bills of lading, shipping

manifests, and compliance documentation.

  • Prepare reports on transportation metrics, performance, and compliance for

management review.

5. Problem Resolution:

  • Proactively identify and resolve transportation issues, including delays,

damages, or compliance concerns.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, sales) to manage logistics

challenges effectively.

6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and

reduce costs within the transportation function.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to

petrochemical logistics.


7. Communication:

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration,

or a related field.

• 5 years of experience in transport coordination, preferably in the petrochemical or

hazardous materials industry.

• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements for

hazardous materials.

• Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
