Multi Skilled Field Technician (Wind, Solar, Hydro)
Renewable Energy (Hydropower, Wind and Solar) will dominate future energy systems with Energy Storage and Private HV networks being key features. The Hydroplan Group has provided services to the renewables sector for more than 30 years.
Role and Responsibilities
This role relates to the Asset Management of existing Renewable Power Station and includes the "hands on Operations, Maintenance and Monitoring of these schemes.
- Candidates from the small (less than 25MW) Wind, solar and hydropower sectors would be preferred. However, independent diesel generators or micro turbines might also be considered.
- The ideal candidates will be able to successfully undertake fault finding, repair and maintenance activities of generation plants, including hydraulic systems, turbines, motors, pumps, inverters, PLC control systems, 3 phase electrical systems.
Other Specification
- A formal qualification (College Certificate, Higher National Diploma, Bachelors Degree) likely to be Electro Mechanical
- 4+ years experience working in the E&M service sector ideally with experience of generation
- Extensive site experience including testing and commissioning
- Strong troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Able to work under pressure and self-manage priorities against multiple tasks in remote areas.
- Good working proficiency in M365 and SharePoint
- Full 4-wheeler driving licence with site road experience
- Good client-facing communication skills
- IELTS B1 / B2 English language written & spoken
MV / HV Electrical Technician
Role & Responsibilities
- Electrical engineering technician with experience of HV / MV installation, testing and maintenance
- Experience of working within and administering company High Voltage Safety rules and authorisations
- Knowledge of technical requirements for distributed generation (including various codes))
- Sizing and specifications of buried MV cable networks
- Outline and detailed design and specification of Hydro, Solar and electrical power projects including the civil and mechanical interfaces.
- Know the sequence of jobs (in the office) and pre-empt the need for information/client input.

Generation Control Programmer
Roles and Responsibilities
- Detailed knowledge of programming and commissioning of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems
- Experience of testing and fault finding to component level
- Detailed knowledge of programming ladder logic from concept and also reverse engineering from existing programmes
- Proficiency in producing code which is backed up with clear notes and documentation
- Knowledge of generator control including synchronising and AVRs
- Know the sequence of jobs (on site and in the office) and pre-empt the need for information/client input
Qualifications and Relevant Experience
- A formal qualification (College Certificate, Higher National Diploma, Bachelors Degree) – likely to be Electrical and possibly control based
- 4+ years’ experience with a contractor or Engineering consultancy
- Extensive site experience including testing and commissioning
- Strong troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Able to work under pressure and self-manage priorities against multiple tasks in remote areas.
- Good working proficiency in M365 and SharePoint
- Full 4-wheeler driving licence with site road experience
- Good client-facing communication skills
- IELTS B1/B2 English language written & spoken
