System Administrator for Khalil Bahman & Partners, Kuwait

 Overview


We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will

have extensive experience in managing Windows Server environments, VMware

infrastructure, Bare-metal servers & data storage systems.


This role demands practical expertise in managing Active Directory, DNS, data storage

systems, and virtualized environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for

ensuring the stability and eficient operation of our IT infrastructure, while also optimizing

performance, managing system resources, and implementing best practices to support

business continuity and scalability. Additionally, this role requires proactive problem solving,

regular system maintenance, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies to

meet organizational needs.


Key Responsibilities


1. Windows Server 2016 Administration

  • Manage and maintain Windows Server 2016 infrastructure.
  • Administer Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)
  • Manage Internal DNS servers.
  • Oversee File and Storage Services:

Manage file servers to ensure data availability and security.

Utilize File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) to implement quotas, file screens, and storage reports.

Handle Print and Document Services to manage print queues and servers.


2. VMware Infrastructure Management

  • Administer and maintain VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter for virtual machine lifecycle management.
  • Perform regular maintenance, patching, and updates on VMware infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of virtual machines and hosts.

3. On-Premises Server and Storage Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of on-premises servers, ensuring they run eiciently and securely.
  • Monitor server health, performance, and capacity, addressing hardware issues proactively.
  • Manage data storage systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security across the organization.
  • Implement best practices for server and storage management, focusing business continuity planning and overall system resilience.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration with a focus on Windows Server and VMware environments.

Proficiency in managing Active Directory, DNS, and file storage services.

Strong understanding of virtualized environments and VMware best practices.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Relevant certifications are highly preferred.


Preferred Certifications


Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

VMware Certified Professional (VCP) - Data Center Virtualization


Desired Skills


Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

Knowledge of networking concepts and infrastructure.

Familiarity with security best practices and compliance requirements.

Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell).
