Performs a variety of routine and complex administrative, technical, and professional work in analyzing and administering various components of the environmental, health and safety programs.
• Develops and maintains environmental, health and safety policies and program.
• Works with environmental, health and safety advisory committees to promote and provide safety expertise and in the development and presentation of safety training materials
• Performs or assists with accident investigations as needed.
• Insures that processes take necessary corrective action to prevent future incidents.
• Communicates recommendations to all concerned parties promptly.
• Designs, develops and conducts safety and environmental training programs.
• Analyzes hazardous conditions and assigns risk assessment codes for use by departments to prioritize and budget corrective actions.
• Coordinates and conducts work area assessment, surveys, and program evaluations to determine the presence of hazardous conditions.
• Collects, analyzes and maintains data essential for effective safety and environmental programs.
• Evaluates hazardous conditions and recommends engineering controls, administrative controls, and/or personal protective equipment.
• Conducts periodic inspections of DEC sites to assist managers and supervisors in environmental, health, and safety compliance.
• Provide the final authorization for any subordinates who are hired by the company under his supervise with pre approval of the GM.
