    The Opportunity
    The appointee will be responsible for assessing the national training needs in Sustainable Energy (SE) and Climate Change Adaptation (CC)A and existing informal and formal Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) training courses and training and education providers are identified and strengthened, Develop benchmarks, competency standards and courses on Training of Trainers (ToT) to create a pool of national trainers is created, Develop and establish training courses and support facilities within TVET institutions, Strengthen CCA and SE training networks are strengthened. 

    The Person We Seek
     

    To be considered for the position, applicants must have an accredited degree (PhD) in an appropriate area with evidence of teaching/research contributions in appropriate areas from a recognized institution. 
    • 10 years of experience or more in research and teaching (or 5 years experience with a relevant teaching qualification). Experience in the non-formal education sector is highly desirable
    • Significant research and solid publications record
    • Possess relevant consultancy experience in appropriate areas within the ACP/PICs
    • Experience/familiarity with international and/or regional organizations; and
    • Ability to represent the university at regional and international technical meetings.

    Remuneration
     
    The position is available for a fixed term period of three years. Previous applicants need not re-apply. 

    In addition to the above benefits, the University contributes 10% of basic salary to an approved superannuation scheme, provides airfare and relocation costs where appropriate.
