POSITION: SAFETY officer – Construction
1. The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety.
The Safety Officer will correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority, although the Safety Officer may exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.
The Safety Officer maintains awareness of active and developing situations.
The Safety Officer ensures the Site Safety and Health Plan is prepared and implemented.
The Safety Officer ensures there are safety messages in each Incident Action Plan.
Desired Candidate Profile
Applicants must have a Diploma in Fire and Safety Engineering, NEBOSH, & IOSH, with at least 3 years experience in a similar position in MEP Company.
Should have good communication skills in English and Hindi.
A valid driving license is preferred.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any other discipline
- NEBOSH, OSHAS, IOSH or any other HSE recognized certifications
- Knowledge in QCS 2010 (Qatar Construction Specification 2010)
- Above 4-5 years of experience in the field of Health and Safety at construction sites including at least 3 years as HSE officer in GCC/Qatar-Should be a good team player and willing to work as a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, excel and Power Point)
- Excellent communication skill in both written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic language will be an added advantage.
- The job will entail working in night shifts.
- Candidates available locally in Qatar with a transferable VISA and an NOC NEED TO APPLY.
