Head Chef for Tanvis Indian Cuisine, UK (United Kingdom)

 Job Summary:

We're currently recruiting for a skilled and experienced Indian Cuisine Head Chef to join our Indian restaurant team in Wakefield and sponsorship will be provided for the right candidate. Responsibilities:


  • You will be required to prepare all types of authentic South Indian and North Indian dishes with specialization in Starters, Curries, Tandoor and Rice items.
  • You should have good experience in cooking popular South Indian dishes such as Idli, Dosa, Uttapam, vada etc, including Sambar, Rasam and Chutney are part of the daily menu, to be prepared with high expertise.
  • * You should have good experience in in cooking popular North Indian dishes such as Panipuri, Bhel puri, sevpuri, chats, Chilly Paneer etc.
  • Manage and lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff by providing guidance and support.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, taste and presentation of each item. Also, monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow to meet the demands of the restaurant.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment with Legal, Government and Company Policies relating to Fire, Health and Safety procedures.
  • Responsible for implementing and continually reviewing the effectiveness of all Food Hygiene Practices and procedures to ensure that you fully comply with all food Hygiene legislation and the Companys Food Hygiene Policy.

  • Work alongside the General Manager ensuring that standards of both food production and service are consistently high and that the agreed standards are maintained and regularly tested and reviewed.
  • Review customers feedback regualarly to ensure quality levels are consistently maintained and improved.
  • Responsibile for stock ordering, stock take, budgeting and cost controlling.
  • Ensure the food hygenie documents are updated daily.
  • Responsible for inspecting all kitchen areas and equipment and report any issues immediately to the General Manager.
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment and tools in perfect working condition.
  • Maintain kitchen staff by coaching, planning, monitoring, and mentoring kitchen staff.
  • You will also be expected to put forward ideas and introduce new and exciting dishes while maintaining the authenticity of traditional cuisine..
  • Be able to work weekends & bank holidays.

Experience:


Proven experience as a Head Chef working in a large, very fast paced Indian food With Hospitality management experience

In-depth knowledge of Indian delicacies including garnishing and presentation.

Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and food safety practices.

Proven ability to manage and supervise a kitchen team effectively.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
