JOB ROLE
Hands on leadership of a team of commissioning discipline engineers and operators in carrying out Pre- Commissioning/Commissioning & Start-up activities. Provide necessary technical information for the other disciplines during the project. Coordinate the work within budgeted man hour and project schedule.
Duties
* Identify requirements and scope of work, review specifications, drawings and other documents of the project and establish applicability to the scope of work.
* Carry out a detailed assessment of the commissioning work involved and assess the available resources and possible constraints in its execution.
* Review project design documents.
* Attend and provide input at P&ID review, HAZOP & HAZID review, spare parts order, specialist services and model review.
* Ability to review contractual documents and identify project requirements and constraints / risks.
* Ability to lead subcontractor for the safe execution of Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning activities in line with the schedule.
* Ability to lead a team of engineers/supervisors for the execution of pre-comm, commissioning and start-up activities.
* Responsible to discuss and get the approval of Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Operations procedures from clients.
* Participate in HAZOP meeting with client and representative of the other engineering disciplines.
* Lead the internal staff meeting; ensure the progress of project in accordance to project schedule.
Coordinate with projects and planning departments on schedule related issue.
* Provide necessary inputs to commissioning proposals at the bidding stage.
* Inspect and ensure all construction activities are completed prior to taking up the system for commissioning and ensure the setting up of safety procedures for the same.
* Assessing the requirements of special tools/temporary facilities/equipment required for pre- commissioning and commissioning.
* Coordinate with mechanical, rotatory, electrical, instrument and other disciplines and individual systems and subsystems to achieve/commence pre-commissioning and commissioning.
* Identify system/sub-system priorities and guide contraction to follow the same.
* Track & record contractual deviations by client/sub-contractor for claims.
* Ability to control execution cost and resources within budgeted cost.
* Prepare integrated schedule with construction activities.
* Review and approve system/sub-system limits and turnover philosophy.
* Constantly monitor to identify and communicate to Construction team on any priority areas of work to accomplish smooth commissioning activities.
* Ensure that all safety and precautionary requirements and procedures are followed during the commissioning.
* Hold regular review of risk assessment/meeting with the client on issues such as HSE.
* Be continually present on the field to guarantee the quality and progress of the work.
* Regularly contact with Commissioning manager to exchange information and provide projects commissioning support as and when required.
* Regularly contact discipline engineers and supervisors for solving problems related to project execution work safely.
* Regularly communication with Sub-contractor execution team.
* Keep the Commissioning Manager apprised of the status/constraints.
* Liaise & Coordinate with commissioning engineers and provide them support and guidelines for technical commissioning related issues.
* Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Supervisor.
